RECOLETOS OPEN TODAY 3RD INT'L CONGRESS, MARK 400TH YEAR IN RP

(Manila Bulletin December 4, 2006 Issue) The Filipino Recollect Province of St. Ezekiel Moreno will host the Third Recollect International Mission Congress starting today and ending on Dec. 6, culminating the quadricentennial celebration of the arrival of the first missionaries in the Philippines in 1606. The Recoletos 400 Executive Committee expects about 700 local and international delegates. Recollect bishops, priests, brothers and sisters working in various mission centers all over the world as well as Filipino missionaries and lay colaborators will flock to San Sebastian College-Recoletos, Manila to evaluate their missionary history, present reality, and plan for appropriate future approaches to evangelization.
