Simulating a cabin's interior dining to interestingly contrast the busy front of C.M. Recto and invite fine dining even for students, employees in and out and walk-ins, CAPTAIN'S GALLEY opened last March 8 as a result of partnership between SSC-R Manila and Work Camp headed by its Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Raymond Cometa (CIHM faculty).
Inspired by cruise cuisine setting, the resto offers buffet, fastfood dining, catering and function set-ups. Manning the place is the restaurant mnager who is backed-up by the the captain waiter, cashier, 2 senior chefs, 3 cooks, 3 waiters, 2 receptionists, 3 office staff, and 2 security guards
The organizational set-up reflects the school's response to bring the academe closer to industry environment by promoting work enhancement in the workplace through school setting. The restaurant's daily operation is being maintained by 3rd year and 4th year HRM students as practicumers who should complete 150 hours of restaurant training.
They are given meal allowances as incentives.
Captain's Galley operates six days a week (Monday to Saturday) from 6:30 to 9pm.
Operation maintains two shiting schedules (6:30 am to 1:30 pm and 2 pm to 9 pm).
The inauguration last March 8 was graced by prominent administrators and other invited priests, employees and guests.
Everyone is invited to enjoy a delightful array of food everyday at Captain's Galley. Bon appetit!
