Mrs. Mae Castellano, the resource speaker from Avon Philippines discussed topics about effective ways in enhancing one’s personality, grooming and corporate dressing in job applications. Actual demonstrations about proper posture, dressing and beatifying oneself were shown which students enjoyed and serves as an eye-opener for them to be conscious on the basic things which are the essentials needed in marketing oneself in order to win the desired job or career.
The Job Hunting seminar which was facilitated by Mr. Jesse Rebustillo, resource speaker from Philippine Daily Inquirer. The speaker did made efforts in discussing the essentials, ethics and preparations needed to succeed in job applications, interviews and resume writing. He actively accommodated the inquiries and questions from the participants and emphasized the relevance of the seminar. The students were inspired and expressed that they learned a lot from the activity.
About 36 companies participated the Job Fair which was held last March 7, 2007 at the Bar Review Center. The campus recruitment was officially opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony by Fr. Dionisio Q. Selma, OAR, the VP for Administration and Ms. Jane D. Bautista, the SPDC Head. Representatives from Richmonde Hotel, Pan Pacific Hotel, Sun Cellular, RFM Group of Companies, Magsaysay Maritime Corporation, Jobs.DB.com, U-bix Corporation, Ambergris Solutions Phils., CocoLife, CitiBank, IBM Business Services, P.J. Lhuillier Group of Companies, Silicon Valley, ICT Group, Sterling Global Call Center, United Coconut Planters Bank, Isetann Department Store, Export Industry Bank, Planters Products Inc., Toyota Balintawak, Tourist Center Corp., Directories Phils. Corp., Outsource One Asia, People Capital Corp., Top 100 Jobs, and China Trust Phils. Commercial Bank. Representatives from Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) made rounds to checked mainly the manpower recruitment agencies to ensure they complied in regards with their permits.
The students came in their business attires and enjoyed the experience of interacting with the representatives of the companies by means of inquiries, submitting their resumes and accomplishing the applications forms. As part of the added benefits of the job fair, the students were able to have the chance to apply for their Social Security System I.D. numbers processed by the invited SSS representatives at the SDPC main office.
Through this endeavor, the linkages with the companies were established and the utmost support and relations of the Sebastinian administrators, personnel and students were intensified once more.
