Exams will be administered Monday to Friday (9am or 1:30 pm) and Saturday
(9 am to 12 nn).

Now, employees, supervisors and even managers who are enjoying their jobs but are short of diplomas can avail of a college course under the ETEEAP.
What is ETEEAP?
Duly recognized by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP) is an educational scheme, which allows deputized schools to assess and give credit to knowledge, skills and learning obtained by individuals from formal, no-formal and informal educational experiences such as work experiences, attendance on seminars, trainings and exposures.
QUALIFICATIONS

An ETEEAP applicant must meet the following qualifications:

A Filipino citizen regardless of the place of residence;

At least high school graduate or has passed the Philippine Educational Placement Test (PEPT) equivalent to first year college;
-
Has at least five (5) years work experience related to the degree program applying for;

At least twenty five (25) years old;
-
Able to show evidence of capability and thorough knowledge through:
i. Certificate of Proficiency issued by any of the following:

the government regulatory board
-
the employer or
-
a licensed practitioner in the field
ii. or Copy of the BusinessRegistration

Strengthening the IT and Computer Science areas of the College of Accountancy, Business Administration and Computer Studies (CABACS), SSC-R Manila ties up with SYKES, a well recognized player in the business processing industry, through a contract-signing held at the President’s Office Conference Room yesterday, March 11, 2010.
The partnership offers the school training and exposure to its students by making them interns to the SYKES’ various facilities in support of the school’s program and complement existing courses to match industry demand. Also, SYKES seeks to provide trainings on the following: Career Workshop, English Communication Workshop, Technical Trainings and Seminar on Special Topics. Moreover, Educational Tour and Faculty Immersion shall be extended allowing the faculty and students to understand and embrace the nature of the industry.
Present during the MOA signing were Rev. Fr. Anthony A. Morillo, OAR (president), Rev. Fr. Leander V. Barrot, OAR (VP-Academics), Rev. Fr. Leonardo P. Seniors rank 3rd in overall standing
SSC-R Juniors hit it big by bringing home the Overall Championship trophy in 2009 NCAA Season.
Chess and Track and Field teams bested others as champions; Vollelyball, Swimming, Table Tennis, Taekwondo and Beach Volley emerging second, while Basketball and Lawn Tennis, third.
Meanwhile, the Seniors copped 3rd overall displaying three championship trophies for Basketball, Women’s Volleyball and Track and Field.
With the total accumulated points of 601 (Juniors-295 and Seniors-306), SSC-R came too close to the College of St. Benilde’s 601.60 who was second overall in both divisions.
Letran bagged the Senior Overall Champion while the host school San Beda came 4th in both divisions.
SSC-R Manila hosts this year’s NCAA Season with the theme “Youth Speaks @ 86: Empowerment. Leadership. Nationalism”.

No less than Her Excellency Gloria Macapagal Arroyo appeared before the graduating cadets of the Citizenship Advancement Training of the SSC-R High School Department yesterday, March 8, 2010.
Introduced by the newly-appointed Trade Secretary Jesli Lapus, madam president especially mentioned that she couldn’t resist the invitation not only because SSC-R is a neighbor but also it has brought significant marks in history (because of its world-renown Basilica), and in academic and non-academic performances being “NO. 1 IN THE BAR EXAMS AND NO. 1 IN NCAA”.
President Arroyo underscored the important role of the youth in preparing the country to be in the First World in 20 years. She stressed that education plays a key role in promoting equitable and sustainable development. On this note, she highlighted the unprecedented scholarship program for private high school and college students citing that almost 50% of high schools are enjoying government scholarships.
Meanwhile, CHED Commissioner Nenalyn Defensor disclosed that there are 636,581 total beneficiaries of the CHED Scholarship Program to date which translates to a budget of P6.5B.
SSC-R Manila President Fr. Anthony A. Morillo, OAR expressed his great appreciation to President Arroyo for gracing the event.

Five schools from Manila and Quezon City sent their best players to join the Senior Basketbal Tryout last Saturday, March 6 at the SSC-R gym. The tryout seeks to uncover potential cagers who will have the opportunity to be trained and later join the STAGS, 2009 NCAA Senior Basketball Champion.
Coached and supervised by Jimbo Aquino (NCAA Champion MVP), Gilbert Bulawan and the rest of the STAGS, the hopefuls were given warm-up exercises and were matched to determine early potentials.

Michael John Tamayo, Al Rashid Manatad, Leonardo Salongsongan and Raymark Gulfo (all HRM students) got into the semi-finals of the NCAA Senior Lawn Tennis by beating the teams from Emilio Aguinaldo College and San Beda College recently.
Stag smashers will be playing against three other teams, namely: Letran, College of St. Benilde, and the University of Perpetual Help.
Coach Nino Salvador is doing a tremendous effort to secure an improved spot in the finals. Last year’s finals was dominated by Letran as champion with SSC-R placing third.

SSC-R Manila religious and lay administrators took an out-of-town session last January 28-29, 2010 at the Island Cove in Cavite to lay down strategies based on the direction set by the school board through its formulated thrusts. This two-day activity allowed the group to sharpen their orientation on the vision, mission, life purposes and objectives of the institution through the presentation made by the VP for Business and Finance, Rev. Fr. Nemesio D. Tolentin, OAR. It also enabled all department/unit heads classified under each VP office to present their performance using the gap analysis report format. Later, the following School Board Thrusts were presented by SSC-R Manila president Rev. Fr.

ABS-CBN's The Correspondents will hold a DOCUniversity Tour on Wednesday, January 27 - 10:30 am at the Little Theater. Expected to attend as audience/participants are mass communication students and selected high school students of SSC-R Manila. Gracing the event are Karen Davila and Abner Mercado who will present segments of their documentary materials.
They are also expected to enlighten the audience with their talks. The project is spearheaded by the Mass Communication Area of the College of Arts and Sciences.
