The contest is open to all HRM and Tourism classes. Entry will be on a per class basis.

Participating classes will collect empty bottles with cap of GSM Blue. Bottles without caps will not be considered as a valid entry.

Yesterday may have prevented a lot of Sebastinians to come to school because of the declared holiday, but it surely didn’t stop the STAGS to conquer another unstoppable victory and post another historical sweep. San Sebastian made its first sweep in 1988 during the time of Paul Alvarez. It was duplicated in 1997 by the powerful team of Rodney Santos, Banjo Calpito, Rommel Adducul, Mark Macapagal, Topex Robinson, among others.

Very easily, the OAR Fathers weakened the College Faculty in a 26-point lead ending the fourth quarter of the Basketball Exhibition Match this morning at the gymnasium.

First quarter match provided an 11-point lead (21-10) which was deepened largely by a 15-point break-away ending the second quarter (40-25), the Fathers still in wide lead.
Third quarter lead ballooned to 26 (66-40) and was maintained with a 90-64 stopper in the last quarter.

Fr. Lucero hit the top mark, heading the list with 11 in the half-time scores and pulling over some 23 points of the team’s total mark. Playing gleefully but scoring 20, Fr. Morillo exhausted the last strength but had a lot of fun. Tough man, Fr. Mercado made some steals and blocks to garner 15 points. Coming back to reinforce the fourth quarter team strength, Fr. Tolentin put out his aggressive stance for a strong defense and goaled 10 points. Muscling the team’s offensive play during the first two quarters, Fr. Barrot netted 8.

Leander Barrot, VP-Academics as he addressed the CABACS students and faculty members during yesterday’s program on Teachers’ Day held at the auditorium. A product of both teachers, his parents may have had the hint that someday their son is going to head a gargantuan task of leading the academic direction of one dynamic and well-recognized school in Manila.

“They are back and hungry to win. Although they relaxed too much during the last two games, they are back in the right form and they moved the ball well this time’, says coach Ato Agustin referring to yesterday’s match with Emilio Aguinaldo College. August 28 wasn’t just “Thank God it’s Friday” thing. It’s a lot “OMG”. It was an “Oh my God, what a Friday?!” celebration thing as two tv stations popping out with their booths side by side, showcasing talents, spreading lots of games, giveaways and gimmickries to conquer Sebastinians. At night, grounds were cleared to give way to the presidentiables in the persons of Senator Loren Legarda, Senator Richard Gordon and Secretary Gilbert Teodoro for the Presidential Forum held at the college auditorium.

Naging panggulat ang panimula ng timpalak nang mamangha ang mga manonood sa mga kalahok habang nagpaparada sa makukulay at kamangha-manghang gayak ng iba’t-ibang rehiyon at lalawigan. Ang kategoriyang ito ay pinagwagian ni G. Jericho Manalac na nag-gayak Igorot habang si Bb. Nina Joson naman ang umangat sa kanyang mahabang kasuotan na pinalamutian ng mga ginintuang isda.

Sustainingeducation for its member Catholic colleges and universities, the ASEACCU (Association of South East Asian Catholic Colleges and Universities) is slated to hold its 17th ASEACCU Conference on August 27-30, 2009 in Sydney , Australia .

Five Sebastinian track and field athletes bagged gold, silver and bronze medals in the recently concluded “BOTAK PAA-TIBAYAN UP DILIMAN MARATHON” held last Sunday, August 23, at the UP Diliman Campus.

Receiving Gold Medals in their respective categories are the following:
1. Mervin Guarte (1st Year CIHM student) for 1-Mile Race Varsity Category
2. Ferdinand Corpuz (4th Yr-St. John Dela Salle) for 5-Mile Race 17-Below Category
3. Micahel Bacong (3rd Yr. Marketing Management) for 5-Mile Race 18-26 Category

The College of Accountancy , Business Administration and Computer Studies through its Business Administration area held a three-day exhibit dubbed as TRADEX 2009 at SM San Lazaro on August 14-16, 2009.

The said affair showcased the entrepreneurial projects of the fourth year business management and marketing students (mostly food) in an array of booths displayed at the food lobby of said mall.

Stags set a five-point lead in the first quarter (24-29), almost gave in to a two-point advantage in the lazy second quarter (35-33), pulled a muscle a bit to inch up lead to six-point in the third (61-55) and drove away with 81-69 finisher in this afternoon’s match.

Rannie Stefano S. Pabilico, Grade 5 - St. Clare Montefalco brought home Gold and Silver medals in the recently concluded 3rd World Taekwondo Culture Expo which was held last July 2-11 at Jeonju, Jeollabuk-do, Muju, South Korea.

The same final ender 77-74 that sent Mapua to its painful defeat last Monday, August 10 duplicated another win for Stags against Letran Knights yesterday and posted another record after its 7-0 sweep in 1997.

The Student Development and Placement Center has started entertaining fourth year high school students for entrance exam application. Application forms can be obtained from the said office. Entrance exam starts on the first week of September and every Saturdays thereafter from 8-12 nn. Results can be obtained shortly after the exam.

Exposing the students to the ill-effects of drug addiction, providing tips on crime prevention and discussing deeply the significance of blood lending are just many of the awareness programs lined up for this semester’s NSTP enrollees. Last August 1, the NSTP held a seminar on “Dangerous Drugs and Control Education Program” at the College Auditorium.
