Adapting another curricular breakthrough, the College of International Hospitality Management (CIHM) initiated a partnership with the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) to introduce the subject LEISURE, SPORTS AND AMUSEMENT MANAGEMENT. Said subject will be offered to 3rd year HRRM (Hotel Restaurant and Resort Management) students which will be handled by PAGCOR’s training arm the Asian Gaming Academy (AGA). The Memorandum of Agreement was signed by Mr. Rafael Butch Francisco, PAGCOR’s Chief Operating Officer and Rev. Fr. Anthony A. Morillo, OAR (SSC-R Manila President). Present during the signing were Mr. Sisenando Solis (Senior Administrative Manager, AGA), Atty. Bernadette Chua, Ms. Armi Braganza Asst. VP, AGA), Rev. Fr. Aside from the physical renovation in a number of offices and campus areas, SSC-R takes a serious effort of providing its clientele the best and efficient services by initiating proper and safer record management through partnership with UBIX. Since July of this year, UBIX has been assisting the Registrar’s Office in digitization of records and in providing back-up copies with embedded software both for school and client consumption. This document-imaging partnership is viewed to increase customer satisfaction through faster and more accurate provision of documents. And as a global move, this developmental effort will soon touch the rest of the school offices.

The partnership was formalized during the contract signing done last October 15, 2009 by and between Rev. Fr. Anthony Morillo, SSC-R Manila President and Mr. Eisen A. Balcueva, UBIX Asst. Vice-President.

SSC-R Manila ranked 8th among 20 local schools and 10th overall during the 11TH Inter-Collegiate Finance Competition held at Bangko Central ng Pilipinas last October 19, 2009. The top 20 schools were chosen from among the 80 participating schools during the elimination round held last September 18, 2009.

Delegates representing the College of Business Administration and Computer Studies (CABACS) included Pearl Joy I. Delos Reyes, Christopher S. Villar, John Newmann A. Mengullo, Lorenzo Miguel P. Fresnoza, and Norrien Jesanny P. Pajarillo.

  2. He / She will be responsible for the maintenance and safe keeping of kitchen equipment and utensils.
  3. Responsible for ordering equipments needed in the laboratory.

Educational Attainment: B.S. HRM graduate or any related course like nutrition / Food Technology, etc.
Professional Background: Has enough knowledge in Culinary Arts and familiar with kitchen utensils and equipments.

Taking the limelight back, Stags hurried to sweep the finals and frustrated the Red Lions in getting a 4-peat throne. Despite the huge red crowd that dominated the big dome, the yellow supporters shone high in spirit and took the glory that was once San Sebastian’s.

Meanwhile, Women's Volleyball hit the 5-peat record, another stunning and historic performance that will be very difficult to break.


Adding feather to the cap is the Junior Chess Team that bagged the Championship title against Letran.

Bouncing back in winning form, Stags carried a wide margin lead throughout the “do-or-die”
match against the Heavy Bombers yesterday. The 29-9, 44-28, 64-44, and 79-64 quarter endings shot off JRU to pit against the defending champion, San Beda this Thursday. Calvin Abueva was declared Star Player of the game.

Staglets downed the Knights recently for the NCAA Junior Chess championship title.

San Sebastian’s Arvie Jongko defeated Letran player and National Master Cherry Ann Mejia on board two and assured the Staglets’ 3-1 victory. Other winning moves came from Kristian Paolo Cristobal and John Mark Dimalawat. Ansernee Bonifacio, Aldous Roy Coronel, Michael Grimaldo and Ralph Floro Jordan complete this year’s team.

Sept. 26 (Saturday)– Stranded students and employees of SSC-R Manila were provided with dinner which was coordinated by the SOFI (Sebstinian Outreach Foundation, Inc.).

Sept. 28 (Monday) – Miss Charlene Santos and Miss Nanette Ramos of the SOFI coordinated with the DSWD Legarda office to assist in relief repacking and distribution.

Sept. 29 (Tuesday) – SSC-R volunteers were deployed by DSWD to Camanava areas for relief distribution.

A series of on-going relief operations for the Ondoy flood victims initiated by the SSC-R Community spearheaded by the Sebastian Outreach Foundation, Inc., supervisor Ms. Charlene Ramos. Students and employees started off repacking relief goods from individuals and other places like University of San Jose Recoletos-Cebu City.
